Maximo Park play 'Curb Your Enthusiasm'-inspired V Festival show
Maximo Park played an afternoon set at the Chelmsford leg of V Festival today (August 16) as the sun shone down on the number one day of the bash.
The band, playing on the V Stage, played songs from both their albums to particular date, 2005's 'A Certain Trigger' and 2007's 'Our Earthly Pleasures', addition new material destined for their third base LP.
Frontman Paul Smith, clad in his trademark suit and plug hat hat, quickly made extension to the hot conditions.
"Ooh, hot, sweaty!" he laughed early in the set, before request the push members to make cupped V signs with their hands. "If you learn 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' you'll know you've just made a very rude gesture," he joked, referencing an episode of the Larry David-starring comedy.
The band then played a new strain, 'The Kids Are Sick Again', which Smith confirmed would seem on the band's next album, which he explained they were set to begin work on imminently.
A mid-paced song featuring the song claim repeatedly sung as the chorus, the new vocal showcased a more mellow direction for the band, although it featured their trademark keyboard swirls and harsh drumbeats.
Maximo Park ended their coiffe with 'Apply Some Pressure', after which Smith earnestly thanked the crowd for their enthusiastic response.

DiCaprio plans Twilight Zone movie
Leonardo DiCaprio is planning to attain a young film based on the classic television series 'The Twilight Zone'.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the actor's production company Appian Way and Warner Bros are looking for material for the flick from one or more episodes of the series.
However the companies are non planning to shoot an episodic film, like the one of 25 eld ago, simply rather make a single storyline based on one or more episodes of 'The Twilight Zone'.
Warner Bros owns the rights to all the episodes penned by 'The Twilight Zone' creator Rod Serling during the show's run from 1959 to 1964.
